METRO MANILA – Tatawagin nang Coronavirus Disease 2019 o COVID-19 ang Novel Coronavirus na unang kumalat sa China noong December 2019.
Ayon sa World Health Organization (WHO) importante na magkaroon ng opisyal na tawag sa isang virus.
Tiniyak ng ahensya na ang pangalan na kanilang napili ay hindi magdudulot ng takot o pangamba sa publiko.
“We now have a name for the disease, and it is COVID-19. We had to find a name that did not refer to a geographical location, an animal, an individual or group of people and which is also pronounceable and related to the disease.” ani WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
