Ryanair has to comply with EU passenger rights, including possible reimbursement and compensation over its plans to cancel between 40 and 50 flights per day until the end of October, the European Commission said on Monday.
One of the Commission’s spokesman told a news conference that the EU executive will have to check if Ryanair respected EU rules.
Under EU rules, airlines operating flights within the bloc that cancel flights have to offer passengers a choice of reimbursement, re-routing to the final destination or a change of flights to a later date.
