Freezing rain and snow hit various parts of Canada in the past few days, causing blackouts and impeding traffic.
Thick ice has covered Toronto since a heavy rain hit the city on Tuesday.
The rain also caused blackouts in 49 places around the city, affecting over 20,000 households.
In Chilliwack, 100 kilometers east of Vancouver, the city has received 77 centimeters of snow in just three days, equivalent to its yearly snowfall average.
Canada’s meteorological authorities say more rain and snow are expected in the coming days.
