The City of Houston, Texas ordered a mandatory evacuation for about 4,600 residences in the western part of the City on Saturday where several hundred people have not left their homes damaged by the flooding caused by Hurricane Harvey.
Some areas of Texas received more than 50 inches of rain and the storm led to the deaths of at least 47 people. According to NBC, some of the city’s schools will not be ready to open when children return to classes on September 11.
Out of the City’s 287 schools, 202 have some water damage and some might take months to be repaired.
