More than 500 rooms in hotels and motels are offered for free to frontliners in Manila City who are affected by the temporary shutdown of mass transport since the implementation of enhanced community quarantine all over Luzon.

This is through Executive Order number 17 signed by Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso commandeering motels and hotels in the City of Manila as staging area of health workers of the six city hospitals of Manila and other national government hospitals located within the city.

There are also buses and e-trikes assigned to give free rides to frontliners. Jeepney drivers affected by the mass transport suspension will operate the e-trikes.

They will receive their salary from the national government through the Department of Labor and Employment. — Bernard Dadis
