Emergency Department rescued nine people and evacuated more than 3,100 amid strong aftershocks as of around 10:00 in the morning Wednesday from Zhangzha township.

As of Wednesday morning, 13 people have been confirmed dead and 175 others were injured in the quake, according to the provincial government. Aftershocks were strongly felt in the area. Stones kept falling from the hills as another landslide blocked a road.

Some tourists who had planned to go to the tourists destination of Jiuzhaigou were trapped on the highway. Along the provincial highway, a sewage treatment plant was seriously damaged and other buildings and dormitories suffered damage to varying degrees.
