French authorities obtained two selfie photographs of the 29-year old machete-wielding suspect posing in front of two Paris landmarks before the Louvre museum attack.
The pictures, which Abdullah Reda Al-Hamahmy reportedly sent to his father Reda Al-Hamahmy on Friday, show him with a view of the Eiffel tower and another view of the Louvre pyramid, with part of the museum building seen behind him.
Abdullah Al-Hamahmy was shot on Friday near the museum after he set upon soldiers with a pair of machetes.
Police said the attacker was carrying a backpack that contained paint spray cans but no explosives.
French President Francois Hollande described the incident as a terrorist attack.
